This is the south end of Roosevelt Lake where the Salt River enters into it. Quite a bit of water going in here. Also Pinto Creek has quite a bit of water flowing into it and there's quite a heavy flow coming in from the Tonto Basin to the north. It's filling up.

This is the view from north of the lake. You immediately notice a difference when you're driving in.

I forget which launch this is. It's just before Windy hill. I thought it was Schoolhouse, but as we passed on our way back home it said it was out of the water. Maybe they just haven't had time to update the sign.

All of the launches we visited were in the water and ready to go.
pict3924.jpg
Standing on one launch and looking at another ready for use also.
pict3925.jpg
There's quite a bit of flotsam and jetsam in the water. It looks a little hairy for boating right now, but should settle down in a couple of months.

Two more launches, ready to go.

You can see some good sized logs floating in the water out in the lake.

Something you really notice is the absence of that barren shoreline of the last couple of years. The water is right up into the vegetation and more.

There's the Dam. Damn it's filling up. That's what 68% looks like.

Take a look at a similar picture from May of 2002 at. http://www.redzilla.net/200205apache/pict0003.jpg You can really see the difference in levels.

All kinds of gunk has collected by the dam. They have some sort of bouy's placed on the other side of the bridge probably warning of all this stuff.

Here's an area to watch over the next month. Within a month it'll probably be under water.
